Assassin’s Creed Mirage Gets New Adventures with Free Valley of Memory DLC

-

If you’re still slogging through Assassin’s Creed Mirage and considering further add-ons, this will bring you joy. Ubisoft has just revealed a free expansion by the name of Valley of Memory. Overall, it seems a good expansion that adds variety to the game at no additional cost. You might have thought (it certainly crossed people’s minds) that at some point Ubisoft would start focusing on new games and just let older ones go by the wayside, but times are changing.

The book is picking up with the protagonist, Basim, heading to Al-Ula Valley in Saudi Arabia. He is searching for his father who has disappeared. This environment seems very appropriate for the series, which is centered on history and exploration. You’ll be able to explore this new space, taking in the sights and sounds of that particular area. It dovetails with the game’s themes of memory and discovery in a way that should tug you right back.

As for the gameplay side, there is a lot to get excited about. You will be able to play new missions based in the Al-Ula Valley, offering up additional opportunities to use Basim’s talents for stealth and combat. The parkour system sees some improvements as well, which makes those rooftop chases and wall runs feel even more fluid and responsive. If you’re into replaying content, the Black Box missions and contracts are now a better way to redoit with twist or challenges.

Ubisoft also put in more options to fine-tune difficulty, so you can make the game as hard or forgiving as you like. One fun touch: the game allows you to play the oud, a traditional stringed instrument. It introduces some tidbits of downtime between the action sequences time for you to sit back, catch your breath and connect with the world. They went back and polished the animations and graphics across the board, even, which should help everything to look a little bit better and move more smoothly.

That expansion appeared to have been aided in part through a deal with Savvy Games Group, which is backed by the government of Saudi Arabia. Here, the idea is to illuminate some part of the cultural history of Starved Rock country. It’s a clever way to mix real-world inspiration with the game’s fictional story.

Put it in your diary Valley of Memory lands on November 18th. And it will be free for anyone who already owns the game Assassin’s Creed Mirage, whether they have it on PC, PlayStation or Xbox or in iOS. Regardless of which platform you choose, you can dive right in without missing a beat.

I believe and hope that this could revive Mirage for quite a few of the players. Are you finished with the main story already or are you saving it for this update?
